ONE of the biggest new home developments in Reading will be opening its doors this weekend to potential buyers.
Work is well under way for the multi-million pound Green Park Village development, on the site of a former farm and quarry, and close to the Madejski Stadium.
Developers, the Berkeley Group, under the award-winning St Edward brand, is building 657 new homes on the 60-acre site, which includes a huge, man-made lake.
The Berkeley Group is also responsible for the nearby Kennet Island development.
From Saturday, they will be opening a marketing suite at Green Park Village to allow home-buyers to view the range of properties; from one-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom detached houses which have an east coast American style to them.
Green Park Village is the first St Edward development in Berkshire. There are plans for a new primary school to be built next to a market square and a community hall. Residents will also have access to an existing day care nursery and gym, with a swimming pool at the nearby Green Park business centre.
The village will also benefit from great transport links, with proposals for a new £8 million train station which will offer direct access to Reading, timetabled for construction to begin in 2017.
For the launch weekend, the marketing suite will be open for visitors from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
