A RACIST and angry driver slapped a young man in the face sending his glasses flying in a case of road rage.
At around 7.45pm on Monday, July 17, the offender was travelling in a silver BMW behind an orange Vauxhall Corsa on Woodside Way in Whitley.
The 19-year-old victim stopped his car near the roundabout adjacent to the A33 and the Tesco depot, near the Reading Gate Retail Park.
He was approached by the other driver, who hurled a racist swear word at him.
He proceeded to slap him in the face four times, breaking his glasses as they flew off his face.
Investigating officer Police Constable Richard Probyn-Probert said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the vehicles travelling in the area immediately prior to the assault.”
A 24-year-old man from Reading was arrested in connection with the incident on July 17 and was released under investigation.
