A MAN has done a 60-mile round trip today to try the UK's first Wendy's.
Edward Smith and his family travelled to Reading from Gosport after hearing about its opening.
He said he lived in New York for five years and during that time he would grab a Wendy's meal 'every week'.
Mr Smith was in the queue to eat in when we spoke to him. He said he wasn't queuing for very long.

At around lunchtime, queues were longer and people were waiting about 30 minutes to get inside.
Edward said he was looking forward to trying a burger.
He said: "I lived in New York for five years and I used to go there every week so when I heard that they were opening I thought 'yeah I'll come along'.

"I like the burgers and my favourite is the triple cheeseburger. Out of the burgers, it is [Wendy's] the best one. The others are rubbish, so compared to the others it's really good."
He added: "I've come up from the South Coast in Gosport. I haven't been to Reading in a long time, I used to go to the Madjeski stadium so it's nice to have a look around."
Edward wasn't the only customer who had travelled from afar.
On the day of Wendy's opening yesterday, a family had travelled all the way from Bournemouth to get their fast-food fix.
