THE latest crime statistics for Reading's town centre have been revealed by police.

Data on the number of crime reports and where they took place have been released earlier this week, detailing the different types of instances police officers have had to deal with throughout June.

According to Police.uk, 549 reports of various crimes were made across the Reading town centre, Abbey and Battle area.

This includes 177 violence/sexual offences, 90 public order offences, and 57 anti-social behaviour offences - these are the most commonly crimes to have been reported in June.

Other reported offences include 16 bicycle thefts, 22 burglaries, 35 criminal damage and arson reports, nine drug offences, 57 thefts reported as 'other', and three reports of possession of weapons.

There was also one robbery report, 35 shoplifting incidents, 16 thefts from a person, 18 vehicle crimes, and 11 crimes listed as 'other' reported.

Although police have released a map detailing the locations of these instances, the location of the hotspots shown on this map has been anonymised.
