Reading residents have left mixed reactions after learning that Yates pub in the town centre will be closing down.
The bar, on Friar Street, has been a popular place for locals to go on a night out in the town.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Yates said: “We will be closing our doors on April 18 and saying goodbye to all of the amazing customers that have come through our doors over the years...But keep an eye out on our socials because something BIG is coming."
The pub was known to be a very popular place.

Many readers also reminisced about nights out and memories they had of the pub.
One regular said: “Wine bottles with a straw each, good old days."
Another added: "I still miss that building being a general Post Office. It had an air of impressive grandeur."
One said: "This was our home back in the day."
There are strong rumours to suggest the pub could be turned into a Slug and Lettuce, although this hasn't been confirmed yet.
And many have expressed their excitment at the possibility of this, even though there is a Slug and Lettuce bar in the Oracle Riverside.
One person said: "Thought it was becoming a slug n lettuce."
