A 17-year-old has been charged with attempted murder after a man was struck by a van in Reading.
Thames Valley Police launched an investigation after a man in his late teens ended up in hospital with life-changing injuries after being hit by a van in Tilehurst.
Officers are also investigating an attack on a teenage girl in Southcote just hours earlier as part of the same appeal.
As part of the investigation, two people have been charged in connection with attempted murder and grevous bodily harm (GBH).
A 17-year-old boy from Reading, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with one count of attempted murder.
Kayden Williams, 18, of Don Close, Tilehurst, has been charged with one count of Section 20 grievous bodily harm without intent and assault by beating.
Williams and the 17-year-old boy have been released on court bail to appear at Reading Crown Court on August 16.
Police said the attack on the girl happened at 5.45pm on Thursday, August 4 in Coronation Square, Southcote.
Then, at about 6.10pm on the same day, a second victim, a man aged in his late teens, suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a van in Pierce’s Hill, Tilehurst.
Both victims remain in hospital at this time.
Two other men, aged 18, 20, both from Reading, who were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, have been released on conditional police bail until September 1, along with a 38-year-old man, also from Reading, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
