1. Reading FC make contact with Stoke City over move to bring back star

Reading have made contact with Stoke City over a possible move to bring Josh Laurent back the the club, the Reading Chronicle understands.

The 27-year-old spent two seasons in Berkshire, winning Player of the Season in his debut campaign, before joining the Potters on a long-term deal over the summer.

Scoring once in 14 matches so far this season, and playing a pivotal role in a 4-0 win for Alex Neil's men against the Royals on Saturday, the midfielder clapped the Reading supporters as he entered and departed the pitch.

2. James Corden forced to scrap pool house plans at £8.5m Berkshire home

Reading Chronicle:

James Corden has been forced to scrap plans for a new pool house during a rebuild of his £8.5m home - as it was too close to a Neolithic monument at the centre of a repatriation row.

The Gavin and Stacey star bought Templcombe House in 2020 and is expected to move there with his family when he returns to the UK later this year after quitting the Late Late Show in America.

He was granted planning permission to demolish the old home and pool house and replace it with a new six bedroom property after a planning meeting of Wokingham Borough Council earlier this month.

3. Addition to Earley home with new look allowed to remain

Changes to a home in Earley that looks radically different from how it used to have narrowly received a stamp of approval.

The home in Sutcliffe Avenue, has undergone significant external changes from how it used to look a year and five months ago.

In August 2021, the semi-detached house looked almost identical to the one it is attached to.

4. Reading tiler who won YouTube show eager to move from estate

Reading Chronicle:

A tiler who won £20k in an Apprentice-style competition is eager to move from a ‘violent’ Reading estate to create a better life for his family.

Adam Brock, 37, who lives on the Amersham Road estate, has invested the money he won in a YouTube show, The Eviction.

He hopes the move will let him kick-start a new career and give his wife and children a better life.

5. Earley dad's plea for building work to continue at his home

Reading Chronicle:

A father’s passionate plea has urged that construction work be allowed to continue so that he can make his home more suitable for his parents in Earley.

Manprit Vig, of Byron Road, Earley, has had builders round to create a front extension, a rear extension and a side extension to his three-bedroom home.

These extensions will eventually provide two new ensuite bedrooms, a dining room on the ground floor, and new bathroom on the first floor.
