Earley-based garden designer Marc Buirski is set to set to inspire thousands of visitors at this year’s BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair.

The event will take place at Beaulieu in the New Forest, Hampshire May 3-5 with a stunning Showcase Garden.

Called The Retreat, the local designer’s creation will be a large-scale woodland-inspired mindfulness garden for Earley St Peter’s C of E Primary School.

The garden is designed as a peaceful space for schoolchildren and staff to take a moment during the busy school day to catch their breath and be immersed in nature.

At the end of the Spring Fair, The Retreat will be dismantled and re-planted in the school’s grounds.

The garden is being sponsored by Bulldog tools and Early St Peter’s School Association. Bulldog tools will continue to sponsor the garden once it is installed, by providing tools as needed. The garden will also continue to be maintained by  Mr Buirski's company 2 Forks and a Spade Ltd.

Marc Buirski was presented with a Platinum Award at the BBC Gardeners’ World Autumn Fair at Audley End House and Gardens, Essex in 2023 in the Beautiful Borders miniature show garden competition for his dramatic entry, Surrounded by Plants (pictured below).

Head of Horticultural Division at Immediate Live organisers of the BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair Lucy Tremlett said: “No matter what size garden or level of gardening experience you have, it’s impossible to spend a day at the Spring Fair without feeling inspired.

"After Marc’s success at our Autumn Fair last year, we can’t wait to see his Retreat Showcase Garden in situ at Beaulieu in May, and know that it will give visitors some wonderful ideas to take home.
