A SOUTHCOTE man has escaped jail after intending to supply cannabis.
Jude Page, from Brunel Road, was handed an 18-month suspended prison sentence at Reading Crown Court today.
The 20-year-old admitted to possessing the drug with intent to supply it after he was arrested when police officers carried out at warrant in the same road on October 28 this year.
They found one-and-a-half ounces of cannabis and £2,485 in cash.
Page was also given an 18-month supervision order and 180 hours community service.
Investigating officer John Chen said: “The sentence should act as a deterrent for any persons thinking about getting into the supply of drugs.
“Thames Valley Police regards the dealing of drugs as a high priority and will actively seek to prosecute individuals and, as in this case, confiscate any proceeds of crime.”
