READING Abbey’s Sam Hallett has been picked as Berkshire captain for the County Championship.
The second row is joined by club colleague Omar Ellaboudy among 20 forwards, with the squad 37-strong in full.
Redingensians trio Greg Drew, Ollie Taylor and Louis Wolf are also in the shake-up to make the pack, with their clubmates Miles Lloyd and Jordan Souter in the backs.
Reading RFC endured a miserable South West One East campaign, but their back row Charlie Davies was a shining light and earns a call-up, while Reading University trio Harvey Bevan, Saul Aimes Reddin and Tom Head are also included.
Newbury have the biggest number of players picked, with forwards Kyle Doel, Rob Drysdale, James Macauley, Alex Millar and Ollie Spanswick among 11 selected from the club. The others are Josh Bartlett, Josh Love, Joe Pigot, Dan Thorne, Toby Thorne and Nick Wackwitz.
The coaching team will be headed up by Redingensians’ Mike Tewkesbury, and includes ex-England international World Cup-winner Will Greenwood as one of the assistant coaches.
Berkshire’s pool games are against Sussex at Reading RFC on Saturday, and against Dorset & Wiltshire at Royal Wootton Bassett on Saturday, May 20.
Should they progress, the final will be played at Twickenham on Sunday, May 28.
