28-year-old Thomas featured just twice for Reading in 2022 but has proved a regular at the Valley, playing 43 matches in 2023/24- including in both matches against the Royals.
Meanwhile, Hector rose through the ranks in Berkshire and made over 60 appearances before enjoying a long career in the Championship with the likes of Fulham, Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday.
🚨I understand Michael Hector has been training with Reading over the last week or so in the hope of earning a contract. Nothing serious or imminent yet but you never know #readingfc https://t.co/bAzG6x4kIs

The 31-year-old was a target to return to Reading in 2022, even training with the club, but moved to Charlton and played 53 times in the next 18 months.
They are joined by former Royal triallist Connor Wickham, who scored just once in four matches for the Addicks.
