HUNTER Penelope Barbara (Penny) (nee White) Of Tilehurst, Reading, passed away on Wednesday 20th April 2022 at home, at the age of 75 years. Born on 6th November 1946 in Stafford she moved to Reading in 1969 with her husband Derek. Penny is lovingly remembered by her husband Derek; son Oliver; daughter Miriam; grandchildren Rebecca, Ilana, Sabrina, Adam, & Lucy; and many relatives and close friends. Penny was pre-deceased by her parents Avril and Lawrence White. The Funeral will be held at Reading Crematorium at 10am on Friday 17th June. https://penelopehunter.muchloved.com/ After attending the West End Neurological Hospital School of Speech Therapy in London, Penny worked as a Speech Therapist in Reading. for 20+ years. She then changed direction and attended Reading University, receiving a BA(hons) degree in English Literature in 1996, which led her to teach classes in and lead several literary groups. Penny was known for her warm and caring nature, the ability to be right and always finish the Times crossword puzzle. Penny was an accomplished artist of many medias. She especially enjoyed printing and watercolours. She was an avid reader and was always willing to share a book recommendation for any occasion. Penny kept an impressive garden and spent many years creating oases in both the front and back gardens, with a wide variety of shrubs, plants and flowers. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
