ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

 WOKINGHAM BOROUGH COUNCIL
(WESTERN AVENUE, WOODLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2016

NOTICE IS HEREBY given that on the 4th April 2016 Wokingham Borough Council as Traffic Authority made an Order under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Western Avenue, Woodley between its junctions with Butts Hill Road and Tiverton Close.
The reason for this prohibition is to enable BT Openreach contractors to undertake essential telecoms repair works in safety.
The alternative route for all vehicles affected by this restriction shall be via Butts Hill Road, Pound Lane, A4 Bath Road, Old Bath Road and Warren Road, or by this route in reverse.
The restrictions shall only be in effect whilst the necessary traffic signs are lawfully displayed. Access for residents and businesses within the boundary of this restriction will be maintained at all times.
The Order will come into operation at 21:00 on the 12th April 2016 and shall continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. It is, however, expected that works requiring this restriction will be completed by 06:00 hours 13th April 2016.
