A MAN who has pleaded guilty to robbing a bakery in Reading has been told he will ‘certainly’ face a prison sentence.
Nicholas Maze, 38, of Caversham Road, pleaded guilty at Reading Crown Court on Monday (February 13) to robbing Cake Box, a bakery takeaway service in Wokingham Road, on January 10 this year.
The incident happened just after midday when a Maze entered the Cake Box Store in Wokingham Road and ‘threatened a staff member with an unknown weapon and stealing a cash box’, according to Thames Valley Police.

The victim, a woman aged in her thirties, was not injured.
The court heard Maze had taken an unknown amount of money from the till. He was arrested on January 12 and charged the following day with one count of robbery.
At a trial preparation hearing in court, Judge Heather Norton said: “You have been out of serious trouble for a considerable period of time but you will certainly face a sentence of imprisonment for this offence.”

He is due to be sentenced at the same court on March 1.
Speaking prior to his plea, officer PC Kelly Janaway said: “This was an extremely frightening ordeal for the victim, who thankfully, was not injured.”
