HILL Dr Alison Paice Died at home on 3rd July 2021 nearly two years after diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer. She was surrounded by her family. A Nettlebed GP 1976-90 and active at the Royal Berks Hospital, Sue Ryder Home, Borocourt Hospital, and nationally at the BMA, she moved on to a wide ranging career as a GP Academic, Kings Fund Director of Effective Practice, Policy Analyst, Senior Medical Director responsible for GP performance, and Department of Health Genetics Advisor. The first woman to chair the National Conference of Local Medical Committees, she rounded off her work with non-executive directorships at the Royal Berks NHS Trust and the National Charity Turning Point. Away from Medicine she trod the boards of Reading's Progress Theatre from 2010-20 and composed poetry with Reading Stanza and Thursday Poets. A europhile, she was chairman of the Pangbourne Twinning Association.
