BARRACLOUGH Margaret Catherine Sime (nee Ross) (Inchmarlo, Banchory, Aberdeenshire) Died on 7th December, 2023, after a short illness. She was born on 12th March, 1938 in Freuchie, Fife, to Catherine and James Ross. After attending Bell Baxter High School in Cupar, Fife, Margaret studied at Central School of Speech and Drama. In 1963 Margaret married John Barraclough, in Paget, Bermuda. Shortly after Margaret and John moved to Cranbrook, British Columbia where they lived happily for several years and where Margaret gave birth to her daughter, Jane. When they returned to the UK, Margaret had two more children, Iain and Clare. They lived in Reading, Berkshire, in a much beloved family home, Cardigan Lodge, for over 55 years, where they raised their children. Margaret worked for many years as an English teacher in local schools. In very recent years, Margaret and John returned to her homeland of Scotland, where they lived in beautiful Royal Deeside. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be greatly missed.
