FIREFIGHTERS have praised a brave security guard who rescued a woman from her burning car.
The driver was on her way to work when her Volkswagen Golf set alight at 9.30am this morning, and Adam Marshall, who works at Kuehne & Nagel in Theale's Brunel Road, rushed to put out the flames.
The heroic guard extinguished the fire and got the driver to safety, before Dee Road fire crew arrived at the scene.
Watch manager Steve Trenery said: "We are very grateful for Mr Marshall's help. He did a great job in getting the young woman to safety and preventing her car from total destruction.
"We do remind people that if they are not confident in putting out fires they should wait until firefighters arrive, but we are thankful for Mr Marshall's help."
