On Friday, Britain's most loved red head filled out the Rivermead Leisure Centre in Reading.
Ed Sheeran's laid back singer/songwriter acoustic music attracted a crowd of all ages. Supporting acts Passenger and Foy Vance set the quality of the gig with sets encompassing humour and some beautiful country style songs.
Hearing Ed Sheeran live was like no other gig I had been to before. The crowd were hushed as on stage he recorded harmonies then created his live backing track on the spot using his loop pedal and the snare, while playing guitar as he went along, then encouraging the crowd to sing and harmonise with him.
His songs varied from a sweet Irish folk duet to a loud and passionate rap in 'You Need Me' with the crowd roaring and grabbing at his heels. You don't need to know any of Sheeran's songs to hear the story he tells in his unique almost urban way. A truly incredible live experience.
