FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blazing car on Chalfont Way earlier today.
Fire crews were called to the scene at 12.30pm after a Toyota Yaris caught fire on the road.
John Irvine, crew manager at Wokingham Road fire station, said the crews used one hose and spent an hour putting out the fire which had engulfed the car when they arrived.
He said: "We put it out fairly quickly and pushed it off the road.
"Once it was made safe we left it in the hands of the owner and police."
He said the car had stopped in the road and started smoking but the exact cause of the fire was unknown.
