HALLOWEEN artwork will be on display at Wild Lime Bar on Friar Street until Monday to help raise money for cancer charities.

Manager Irene Galenkamp and husband Andres celebrate their fondness for Halloween every year by adding to their spooky paper mache collection and this year's addition features a spectacular Game of Thrones themed piece.

Two statues and a recreation of the 'Iron Throne' from the show will be on display all weekend and guests will be able to pose for a photo with the display to support a charity of Wild Lime's choosing.

Irene said: "We've been here for three years and every year, because of our fondness for Halloween, we like to decorate the bar. I do all the decorations from scratch using paper mache and every year we add a little bit to the collection.

"We were new to Game of Thrones and we decided to do something based on that this year.

"We are hoping to make it a charity event. People will be able to pose for pictures with the statues at a charge. We haven't decided yet whether we will be giving money to Cancer Research or Marie Curie."

After three months of hard work, Irene was able to create a highly detailed piece in recognition of the popular fantasy television show.

It will feature alongside more conventional Halloween decorations, such as skulls and pumpkins, although in previous years Irene has produced a range of sculptures, including Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc. and a minion from Despicable Me.

"I started the Game of Thrones piece at the end of July - the amount of time and effort that has gone into producing them is crazy."

"We started small with a couple of pumpkins and witches and then the following year we added masks and the main attraction last year was the skull on the entrance," Irene added.
