A POLICE officer suffered minor injuries after they were assaulted by an alleged drunk driver.
Emergency services were called to the junction of Wokingham Road and St Peter's Road on December 23 at around 6.30pm.
A 36-year-old man from Crowthorne was later arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving a motor vehicle when his alcohol level was above the limit, failing to stop and assaulting a police constable.
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "We were called at around 6.28pm to reports of a road traffic collision between two vehicles and an assault.
"The driver of one of the vehicles sustained minor injuries. An officer also received minor injuries during the assault.
"A 36-year-old man from Crowthorne was arrested. He has been released under investigation."
A Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crew attended alongside paramedics and one person was taken to hospital.
