READING will celebrate LGBT+ History Month for the first time this year.
The event, organised by the LGBT+ History Month Forum, seeks to celebrate diversity.
The forum was founded by Reading Pride ambassador Mark Anthony Lawrence, who said: " I was disappointed to see a lack of vibrant activity taking place in our town, I decided to share my concerns with Reading Pride and Support U, the town's leading LGBT+ charities with a goal of bringing our community together and opening up our history and fight for equality, for all to experience "
Reading will celebrate the LGBT+ History Month for the first time this year.
Events taking place across the town this month include debates on whether or not there is room for LGBT+ people in religion.
Elsewhere, The University of Reading will screen a number of special films at its campus.
