CHILDREN got to grips with beakers and test tubes during a themed week of practical learning on all things science.
Woodley CofE School welcomed special guests throughout the week (June 25-29) while being given the chance to develop their skills with a range of experiments.
The event, organised by teacher Chrissy Boulton, involved talks from University of Reading staff and specialists in Chemistry and Physics.
Ms Boulton said: "I instigated the science week as there has been a lot in the press over recent years about investing in scientists and raising the profile of science, especially for women and within schools."
As part of the experiments, children got to see the power of UV rays and investigated whether or not it was possible to cook an egg on a car bonnet.
