A DRUG dealer who was arrested at a McDonalds and attacked police has been sent to prison.
Kieren Amos, 23, of Mount Road, Thatcham, has been sentenced to three years imprisonment after admitting two counts of possession with intent to supply.
Amos was detained at McDonalds on Northbrook Street, Newbury, by police officers at 2pm on Monday May 21.
He was suspected to be dealing controlled drugs in the local area, and when he was arrested he turned violent against officers, and was found to have a large amount of cash, heroin and crack cocaine on his person.
Amos was arrested and charged with the two offences on the same day.
He admitted both counts on Wednesday June 27 at Reading Crown Court, and was jailed for three years, the sentences will run concurrently.
Investigating officer PC Jess Lodge, based at Newbury Police Station, said: “The Stronghold team at Newbury are dedicated to preventing drug dealers from operating in the town and surrounding areas.
“This is a prime example of how the team use proactive policing skills to disrupt drug supply and protect vulnerable people who dealers attempt to exploit.
“Thames Valley Police is dedicated to reducing harm caused through drug supply and related activity through our Stronghold campaign.”
