THOUSANDS of runners breathed a sigh of relief today, after months of hard work and training paid off.
The Sage Reading Half Marathon saw packed crowds line the streets to cheer on people of all ages and abilities.
Youngsters took part in the Green Park Challenge beforehand and the adult elite runners set off at 10.15am.
The first person to cross the finish line was Scott Overall, who is best known for competing in the London 2012 Olympics.
He finished in one hour and three seconds and the quickest female runner was Steph Twell, finishing in one hour and 11 minutes.
