THE CONTROVERSIAL Jeremy Kyle show, which has been on air since 2005, has been permanently cancelled following the apparent suicide of a guest one week after they appeared on the show.
Reading-born Jeremy Kyle, who attended boys' independent school Reading Blue Coat in Sonning, has faced criticism of the show since the news of the death of a man earlier this week.
Steve Dymond took a lie-detector test to convince fiancee Jane Callaghan he had not been unfaithful, but was told he had failed.
His son Carl Woolley, 39, said his father had been “distraught” over the breakdown of his relationship and hoped the show would help him “clear his name”.
News of Mr Dymond’s death prompted an outcry and ITV was been urged to end the programme for good.
Many have taken to Twitter to express their frustration with the show.
One tweet reads 'Good riddance to the #JeremyKyle show.
'Now can we get rid of all the shows that exploit working class people at their most vulnerable national TV?'
Another said: 'The show should have been axed years ago'.
