POLICE have revealed that a total of FIVE tickets were issued during a speeding operation in Southcote Lane this morning (June 4).
The new speed limit for the area is 20mph, and a team was out enforcing the new rule by stopping those travelling above the limit.
The fastest driver stopped this morning was travelling at 33mph.
Posting on the Thames Valley Police's Facebook post, some residents commented that other roads should have their speed limit reduced.
One said: "Please pilot one of these on the Christchurch Road, Reading.
"It's 30mph but cars go at 60mph+!
"Particularly in the evening.
"It's a highly residential road with several schools and uni entrances.
"There have been two collisions in recent months that I'm aware of."
While another Facebook user said: "Please start one in Colemansmoor Road, Woodley."
