A CAR has smashed into a post office in the early hours of the morning as masked men stole alcohol and cigarettes.
Police officers were called to McColls Post office in Woodley after masked burglars ram raided the store overnight.
The incident happened at 5.44am on Crockhamwell Road where a car was used to gain entry into the shop.
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: “Thames Valley Police is currently on the scene of a burglary at a branch of Martin McColl in Crockhamwell Road, Woodley.
“It was reported to police at 5.44am this morning that a vehicle had been used to gain entry to the front of the store.
“A quantity of cigarettes and alcohol have been stolen during the burglary.
"Three people were seen by witnesses at the scene, all of them wearing face masks. “One was dressed in black and another was wearing a grey top and black trousers.
“Anybody who believes they witnessed the incident, or who may have dash-cam footage are urged to call 101, quoting URN 162 (4/9)
"A scene watch is currently in place while our investigations continue.”
