GDK CEO Imran Sayeed said: “I am thrilled that German Doner Kebab has officially been recognised as the top place to eat in London as it is undoubtedly one of the most vibrant cities in the world and boasts an unrivalled mix of eateries to grab something to eat.
“You could dine in London every night for the rest of your life and still not even be close to getting around to every single restaurant its streets have to offer – which outlines the magnitude of this achievement for the entire brand.
“For a doner kebab restaurant to now be the number one place to eat showcases that German Doner Kebab have something to suit every taste and budget in every single city.
“Londoners have been going mad for our kebabs, with our restaurants regularly queued-out during lunch and the evenings as people enjoy the great food and fast-casual dining experience.
“London has taken the German Doner Kebab experience to its heart, and we are so proud to be ranked number one by the people that matter most – those that call it home.”
But it isn’t just London that has fallen in love with GDK’s delicious offerings, with cities across the UK and beyond enjoying everything the restaurant has to offer.
German Doner Kebab is now one of the UK’s fastest growing restaurant chains with 34 outlets opened over the past two years.
With the gourmet doner kebab chain serving-up a whopping £1m in kebab sales in its restaurants every week in the UK, plans are now well underway to open a further 14 new stores by the end of the year.
These include new stores in key regional locations which include Oldham, Bradford, Northampton, Walsall, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
German Doner Kebab currently operates stores in the UK, Sweden, Dubai, Abu-Dhabi, Oman and Bahrain.
The UK growth plans follows news that the brand is embarking on plans to expand into Saudi Arabia.
Further growth has been announced across American and Canada.
