A ROAD in Reading has had its speed limit reduced - but time is being given to drivers to adjust.
Portman Road has had its speed limit reduced from 40mph to 30mph.
There are currently no signs to suggest the change has been implemented.
Reading Borough Council (RBC) took to Twitter to explain why this is the case and to reassure drivers that time will be given to allow them to adjust.
It read: "Portman Rd is now the national urban speed limit of 30mph, by virtue of the fact the 40mph signs have been removed. "Only limits other than 30 are signed in urban areas.
"We will however put temporary signage in shortly.
"As with any speed change, time allowed for drivers to adjust."
