DRIVERS will have to sit in heavy traffic for up to three weeks as road works are being carried out in London Road.
The roadworks carried out by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks started on Tuesday October 29 on the A4 connecting to the A329
Works are expected to take three weeks.
During the rush-hour, people reported that they were stuck in heavy traffic for an hour longer than they needed to be.

One commuter said: "What takes a 40-minute journey to get home took me 1hour and 30 minutes. It's ridiculous and I was getting so angry."
A temporary traffic light system is in place at the A4 London Road junction connecting with the Suttons Seeds roundabout on the A3290.
SSEN workers are upgrading the underground electricity cable network which supplies electricity to homes and businesses in Reading.
A SSEN spokesman said: "For the safety of road-users and SSEN staff on-site, a traffic management scheme has been agreed with Reading Borough Council, Wokingham Borough Council and Highways England.
"SSEN would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience this essential work may cause, and assure you that SSEN will do all it can complete the project as safely and as quickly as possible.
