ARMED police have been spotted in Thatcham.
Scores of police officers are scouring the area around Hartley Way, some with police dogs.
They were called at around 11.30am following reports of a fear for welfare incident.

Nearby residents have reported seeing officers attempting to storm a number of homes, while roads have also been closed off around the area.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of affray and are currently in police custody.
Police have reported that no one has been injured.
A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "Thames Valley Police officers were called today at about 11.30am following reports of a fear for welfare incident in Hartley Way, Thatcham.
"Officers attended the scene, where they remain at this time. Two men have been arrested on suspicion of affray and are currently in police custody. It is not believed that anyone has been injured as a result of the incident."
One neighbour said: “I have never seen something like this before. It feels a bit tense right now as the whole road is shut and no one can get out.
“There is police cars everywhere and a dog, and they are trying to get into a house.
“At around 7am I heard shouting and banging from the house so I think it might be to do with that.”

According to reports, more police have now arrived on the scene.
