A DEDICATED organiser of Newbury's first ever Pride event says he has been 'overwhelmed' with support from the town.
Jake Hambleton, chair of Newbury Pride, said that the organisation had been formed about five months ago.

He said: "Members of the LGBT+ community were meeting up a while ago in Newbury and it was off the back of that that we decided to set up a committee to arrange Newbury Pride.
"Inclusion for all is our message."
A fundraising event is taking place on Saturday, November 30, at The Walkabout.

Mr Hambleton added: "It is so everyone can feel accepted in the community.
"Even if just one person in Berkshire feels alone, these events are really important in a community area like Newbury.
"Some may not be able to go to Pride events in places like London - Newbury is a small town and it's important for people to feel included."
The nine committee members have just received charity status for the organisation.
"We asked local businesses for support and the positive response was quite overwhelming," added Me Hambleton.
"We are hoping that between 50 to 100 people will show up on the 30th - it should be a fantastic event.
"We will also be announcing the date for the Pride next year."
The group also holds meet ups on the first Friday of every month, welcome to all.
