A 10-year-old girl has been called lucky by police after she managed to flee from an attempted abduction in Reading.
Thames Valley Police said the youngster was walking along Northumberland Avenue, towards Whitley Wood Road, when it happened December 17.
The force said the offender, believed to be a man, grabbed hold of the victim's left arm from behind, she shouted for the offender to let go and managed to run away.
Police said he did not speak to the victim and the girl did not sustain any injuries.
It happened between 3.20pm and 3.30pm.
Investigating officer, DC Yong Chung, of Reading police station, said: "This was a frightening experience for the victim, who luckily managed to get away.
"I am appealing for information or witnesses to this incident to come forward and help us with our enquiries.
"This incident happened in a public area, at a time where I believe it is likely that someone will have seen or heard something."

The police said the offender is described as a man who had short brown hair.

Police are also calling on anyone who was in the area that may have dashcam footage which could help with the investigation to also get in touch.
