NEWBURY Town Council has awarded £20,000 grant funding to 11 organisations that benefit people in Newbury.
The largest single grant of £2,800 was given to Time to Talk West Berkshire to enable the charity to provide more counselling to support vulnerable young people.

Like all the grants given, this will be match funded by local charity, Greenham Trust.
Other grants for the youth of the town were given to 1st Newbury Scouts to help upgrade their HQ building, and to the Bus of Hope for running costs - both received £1,000.

Other grants were awarded to charities ranging from John Rankin School PFTA for sun canopies in their playground and to Cruse Bereavement Care West Berkshire for training and outreach funding.
Leader of the Council, councillor Martin Colston, said: “We are delighted to be able to support such a wide range of organisations that do great work for our local community, and in particular to support work for the youth in our town”.

The Good Exchange is a charity-owned, not-for-profit on-line matching platform which matches organisations with money to give to good causes with good causes that need it.
