AN investigation has begun into the death of a man who died in police custody.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has begun an independent investigation following the death in hospital of William Cameron, 38, who had been arrested and taken to Loddon Valley police station, Lower Earley, Reading on Wednesday January 8, 2020.

The investigation is at an early stage and information is still being gathered.
The coroner has been informed, a post mortem examination carried out and we are awaiting the results.

IOPC regional director Sarah Green said: "My thoughts remain with the family and all those affected by this loss.
"As Mr Cameron has sadly died shortly after being taken into police custody it is appropriate we carry out an independent investigation into the circumstances."
