The station will be a tri-service community hub, offering a shared location for RBFRS, Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service to operate from.
The video, which was posted on January 10, shows the stations key features which include a gym to carry out functional fitness training to maintain required levels of fitness of staff.
En suite accommodation will be provided in the station to help support a diverse work force and house paramedics on standby.
It will also feature advanced fire kit drying technology and laundry facilities; appliance bays built to maximise space for service vehicles; a breathing apparatus room; dedicated office space for local neighbourhood policing team; ICT suites to support online training for crews; a training yard and more.
Councillor Angus Ross, lead member for Strategic Assets on Royal Berkshire Fire Authority, said: “The inclusion of these facilities ensures that the station will be an asset and resource for local residents to make use of.
“This is just one example of Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service delivering on its commitment to put fire stations at the heart of the communities they serve.”
A community room will also be included, providing a flexible, fully accessible meeting space for residents and community group use.
The station is intended to showcase a service that is modern, accessible, forward thinking, collaborative and eager to invest in communities and staff across Royal Berkshire.
Work on the new station is due to begin in Spring 2020 with completion and opening expected by Spring 2022.
