CHILDREN in year six in West Berkshire will find out on March 2 which secondary school they will go to.
West Berkshire Council has offered 98 per cent of pupils one of their preferred schools, with 89 per cent going to their first-choice school.
Councillor Dominic Boeck (Con, Aldermaston), lead for education, said: “I’m pleased that we have again been able to offer most year-six pupils a place at one of their preferred schools next year.

“It’s really important that pupils feel happy and secure at secondary school. Ensuring young people reach their full potential is a priority for us and a good start at school will help this.
“With an increase in the number of applications I think we have done well to allocate such a large number of their preferred schools.
“I wish everyone the best of luck with their move up to secondary education.”
