AN UNAUTHORISED encampment has been set up in Earley.

Wokingham Borough Council confirmed that last night (Tuesday, March 3), that six caravans and six 'associated vehicles' were currently on the site at Sol Joel Park.

A spokeswoman for WBC said: "The land is leased to Earley Town Council and we have been working with them and Thames Valley Police with regards to this matter."

Neighbours have taken to Facebook to say that the caravans have appeared over night.

One added: "There was a parade of caravans in Mays Lane about 7.30 last night."
