READING Half Marathon organisers have promised to update the public on whether the race will go ahead, today (March 16).
Organisers were asked "Why haven't you announced your decision yet?" and took to social media to answer.

A tweet from Reading Half Marathon said: "A very common and understandable question folks and we totally understand why it is being asked.
"We've promised a Monday update and you will get one."
It continued: "To try and explain why it has yet to be announced, the race(s) are a combination of work and support from a number of authorities, businesses and so on.
"Before the announcement comes, we have to make sure each and every one of them is on board and aware.

"This is not an excuse nor blaming exercise - just trying to explain why there has been no update.
"You WILL be updated ASAP and it will be today.
"These are unprecedented times and as runner ourselves we totally understand your queries - but we want everything right before we let you know."
Organisers then thanked the public for their patience and understanding.
