A WOMAN who was driving five times over the limit to visit a friend during lockdown was arrested in Newbury last night (March 29).
Officers arrested the woman, who is in her late 20's after she was found to be over the limit and stated the purpose for her journey during lockdown was to visit a friend who lived 50 miles away.

Thames Valley Police (TVP) are reminding residents that visiting a friend does not count as an 'essential journey' under the new government restrictions.
The woman was charged and remanded in custody for being over the limit and for flouting the Restriction of Movement legislation enacted for the Covid 19 health crisis.

TVP said in a Facebook post that it wants to reassure the public that it fully supports the governments recommendations and will do everything it can to keep members of the public safe.
