POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a spate of arson incidents in the town.
Between 12am and 4am on Wednesday, March 25, eight vehicles were damaged after fires were deliberately started in different locations in the town.

The locations included The Maying, Grove Hill, Scott Close, and Wensley Road.
Investigating officer, detective constable Rosemary March, of Reading police station, said: “I am appealing for witnesses to these incidents, which we are treating as being linked to one another.

“I would like to reassure the public that although these incidents are linked, we believe them to be targeted attacks, and not random.
“I am now appealing for witnesses to these incidents of arson. They took place across four different locations, all in residential areas, where it is likely that someone will have witnessed something.
“Anyone who has information on one, or more than one of these incidents, is asked to make contact with Thames Valley Police, quoting reference number 43200097000 or URN 48 25/3.
