EYE-CATCHING NHS tributes have been painted in Reading Station to encourage people to stay at home.

In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, messages of thanks to the NHS have filled the once-bustling station during the UK lockdown.
Stairs in the station have been decorated with a giant blue heart reading "NHS - thank you."

On the floor, a colourful message reads: "Protect the NHS - save lives."
Police have been patrolling areas in the town to ensure anyone travelling is sticking to government lockdown rules.
