But how many have appeared on such shows in recent years?
We've put together a list and we have a feeling you'll remember a few of these!
1) MasterChef finalist 2020, Sandy Tang
A very recent one! Sandy, 24, made it all the way to the finals of this year's MasterChef, which aired last Friday.
Her Eastern and Western dishes were always prepared with a twist, winning over judges Greg Wallace and John Torode.
She spokes exclusively to The Chronicle last week - have a read to hear about her favourite Reading pub!
2) Jen and Rob, from Race Across The World 2020
Another recent, ongoing one!
Jen and Rob, a married couple from Reading, are currently on our TV screens taking part in the reality show Race Across the World.
The pair have been battling out in the BBC Two show against others to travel across the world without grabbing a flight to win a cash prize of £20,000.
They have done well so far - could they win?
Read a recent interview we had with the pair here.
3) Ben Arrowsmith, Hunted WINNER 2020
2020 must be the year of Reading fame!
Ben Arrowsmith, a plumber from Pangbourne, along with best friend Rob Ellington, from Wokingham, were recently crowned winners of this year's escape show Hunted.
The 25-year-old managed to evade a team of highly-skilled ‘hunters’ for more than three weeks after hitchhiking across the UK last year.

4) Danyl Johnson
Who could forget Danyl?
The Reading singer made it all the way to the semi-finals of the X-Factor 2009, alongside Stacey Solomon and Olly Murs.
We caught up with him last year. Read all about what he's up to now here.
5) India Reynolds, Love Island 2019
Love Island fans will of course remember India, from Reading, who made it to third place in 2019's Love Island.
India at The Oracle, Reading
Glamour model India, who arrived at the villa as a late contestant, paired up with popular Ovie soon after joining, describing hometown Reading as 'not that interesting.'
