ANOTHER cat has been shot with a pellet gun in Tilehurst following a series of similar incidents in the area.

The first was reported last month where, devastatingly, the cat died.

In a post last night, Vets4Pets said: "Another cat shot with a pellet gun.

"This is a perfect example of what I was saying on my last post.

"This was an incidental find, the cat came in with injuries on his front end from a fox bite and as he was lame behind I suggested to the client that I was concerned he had been another victim of the cat shooters.

"As it turns out I was right, this pellet has shattered his fibula as well, hence the lameness.

"He is ok, recovering well but very lucky!"

The incident this time happened close to Tilehurst station, and has been reported to police.

Thames Valley Police had launched an investigation following the death of the first cat.

The one-year-old male ginger cat had been shot by an air rifle and was found in Keswick Close, Tilehurst on April 20.

He was taken to a vet for treatment but sadly was later put down.

Police believe the incident happened between on 6pm and 8pm, and would like to know if anyone has information which could help with the investigation.
