Latest statistics show that yesterday alone (June 19), one new case of Covid-19 was diagnosed across the wider Reading area.
Public Health England figures show that 595 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Friday morning (June 19) in the same area, up from 594 the same time on Thursday.
A week before, there were 592 cases.
This means cases have increased by less than 0.5 per cent over a 24-hour period, on a par with the rate of increase across the UK.
They were among the 22,499 cases recorded across the South East, a figure which rose by 35 over the period.
More detailed figures show which area in Reading has been the worst affected.
In Coley Park, 25 people are recorded to have died of Covid-19.
Most of these happened in April, where 22 people died of the illness.
In March, one died and in May two people in the area died.
Another badly affected area is Norcot North, where 22 have lost their lives.
Of these deaths, 19 occurred in April, and three in May.
In the Wokingham Road area, 12 people are reported to have died - the same figure as the Caversham Balmore Park area.
The numbers refer to deaths relating to people living in the Reading borough and where coronavirus was mentioned as a cause on the death certificate.
The town saw eight deaths in March, which rose significantly to 114 in April - the highest of the three month period available for analysis.
The most deaths in April occurred in the Coley Park area, with two deaths in central Reading that month.
In May, a total of 33 deaths were recorded, the highest of these being in the Wokingham Road area, which saw 7 deaths in May.
