CASTLE Hill will reopen 'shortly' after a sinkhole caused chaos on the road earlier in the month as a result of stormy weather.

The huge hole appeared on June 10 and the road was late closed off.
Following investigations, Reading Borough Council (RBC) has revealed the reason for the damage to be a failed surface water sewer caused by heavy rainfall.

A spokesman from RBC said: "The Highways Team are now reinstating and will fully reopen the road shortly."
