A POLICE cordon placed in Garrard Street on Monday was not related to Saturday's stabbings.
Residents had been concerned after seeing police tape off an area of Garrard Street on Monday (June 22) so soon after the terror attack on Saturday, which has seen road closures and a high police presence in Reading.

The incident in Garrard Street related to a fear for welfare situation, which officers had been called to ar around 4.10pm.

A spokeswoman from Thames Valley Police said: "The road was closed shortly after.
"The incident was resolved safely and the road was reopened at around 5.10pm."
