PLUMES of smoke can be seen billowing through a street in Newtown, Reading.
A video shared on a local Facebook group shows a home in Liverpool Road consumed by smoke as concerned neighbours watch.
The footage shows a cordon around the house, with a fire engine outside.
Residents have reported a high that police and an ambulance are also present.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) received reports at 2.50pm today (June 26) on a fire at a property.
RBFRS crews from Wokingham Road, Caversham Road, Dee Road, Ascot and Whitley Wood and two additional officers are currently at the scene, together with a crew from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and a support vehicle from Maidenhead.
Upon arrival, crews found that one person had been rescued from the property, who was placed in the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
Eight firefighters in breathing apparatus then used four hose reels to bring the fire under control.
They currently remain on the scene damping down.
