1. Money raised for former Thatcham Town FC captain Tom Melledew, who fell through roof
MORE THAN £4,000 has been raised in less than 24 hours for Binfield FC midfielder Tom Melledew, who faces a tough journey of recovery after falling 20 feet through a roof.
Lifelong friend and Thatcham Town defender Gareth Thomas set up a crowdfunding page yesterday to ease the financial burden Tom will face on top of the mental and physical struggles as he recovers.

2. Andrew Harper court case: Colleague recalls the night PC died
As the trial into PC Andrew Harpers death has restarted, more evidence has been heard in court at The Old Bailey.
It was heard that the tragic series of events which led to the "gruesome discovery" of PC Andrew Harper lying catastrophically injured in a country lane was played out in court.
At 11.17pm on August 15 last year, homeowner Peter Wallis called 999 to report thieves making off with his quad bike in Stanford Dingley, West Berkshire.

3. Police hunt would-be robber scared off by dog
A WOULD-BE robber was scared off by a dog after attempting to steal a woman's phone as she walked in Tilehurst.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place last Monday (June 15) at around 6.15pm.

4. Woman raped in Newbury
A WOMAN in her twenties was raped recently in a grassland area of Newbury (June 13).
Police are appealing for potential witnesses to the incident, which happened between 10pm and 10.30pm in a grassland area just off the A330, near to the junction with Monks Lane.
A man has been arrested and police are appealing for wittnesses.

5. Reading pub The Retreat added to CAMRA's heritage list
A SMALL Victorian pub in Reading has been added to a prestigious heritage guide published by Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
Retreat, a small Victorian terraced pub with two rooms, has been included in the Real Heritage Pubs of the South East guide.
